<p>early in 2004, i decided to pursue boat building as a fill in pastime, primarily for the downtime between our carpentry jobs. my wife sue and i are finish carpenters, and especially during the winter months, find ourselves with time to kill.. Whitehall. this whitehall rowing boat was built to lines from an 1896 boat in the baker boat works catalogue. the original boat is in the collection of mystic seaport museum and is called azulykit.this is the second boat i have built to plans from baker boat works (see the scow schooner yawl boat in museum boats) and i can vouch for their excellent detail and accuracy.. Hull type: traditional round bilge whitehall rowing hull for wood or fiberglass construction. wood version features glued and edge-nailed "bead and cove" strip planking (no plywood is used in this version)..
